Welcome to Our Recovery Coach Academy

Through our partnership with the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), Recovery Cafe of Clark County offers nationally recognized training programs designed to empower individuals to guide, mentor, and support those navigating recovery from substance use, mental health, or physical health challenges. Our Recovery Coach Academy equips participants with the skills to foster lasting change through peer-to-peer support, available both in-person and virtually for accessibility.

What is a Recovery Coach?

A Recovery Coach is a trained individual in sustained recovery who helps others overcome barriers to recovery from addiction, mental health, or physical health issues. They serve as mentors, offering guidance and support while staying focused on recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction, distinct from other peer roles.

Recovery Coaches:

  • Ask empowering questions to help individuals make life-improving decisions.

  • Assist in creating Recovery Wellness Plans to support progress.

  • Encourage all pathways to recovery.

  • Support positive change to prevent relapse and build community connections.

  • Help individuals achieve life goals disrupted by addiction, homelessness, or mental health challenges.

  • Provide encouragement and celebrate milestones.
